ROM drives are brand new. Imgburn Medium Error Works like a charm now. Had power calibration error with Nero.

IT WORKED!! The DVD drive's firmware contains write strategies on how to handle certain types of media. It only will burn in 2.4x to begin with, and when I try to select 1x it goes right back to 2.4 - using ImgBurn or Nero. Working...

The default speed (2.4x or so) it had auto-detected lead to the error.
